USF won't fire him, but how long can you employ the worst head coach in college football history?

I think the honest answer to your question is financial. Schools normally fire coaches early because they can afford to replace them. Jeff Scott is getting paid whether he is here or not. If he is not here, do we have the money to pay him for another year and another head coach? If the answer is 'No' then you have to keep him and hope he can salvage a recruiting class. If you fire him and you don't have anybody to replace him, I can't imagine anyone wanting to come here to play until it's sorted out.

I can’t imagine many recruits lining up to play here if he stays. We are screwed either way.

That's true but it could somehow be worse if we only had an interim I think

He put himself in that tough spot. No other school/organization would have done what he did.

No school would...and people want MK to hire another coach since he has a great track record with football hires

Right now I think pretty much anyone could do better. I mean seriously how could it get worse? The players would probably have more then 1 FBS win in 3 years if they called their own plays.

He needs to fire CJS then seek advice from numerous successful people and organizations on the next hire. He definitely can’t do it alone.

Oh I meant recruiting with an interim for this year. They could pull a random fan from the stands each game and have the same results on the field.

They’d probably do better recruiting just calling up their friends and former teammates. Our we could bring Auggie and Flowers back and let them recruit for us. I’m sure they’d do better at it then CJS
