Look at the amount of Leavitt coached kids that played in the NFL AND have Super Bowl rings.  Guy found and developed talent…some of it from under rocks.  He certainly had some game management issues but anybody here would take a bunch of 8-4 or 9-3 seasons and legit bowl invites over the trainwreck.

Firing him set this program back 10 years.  Not bringing him back…another 10.  Continuing to shun him from the program likely another 10.

USF is built on an ancient Indian burial ground…that much is true.  But Leavitt mellowed those spirits for an incredible run for a while there.

****, it's not good for me to watch and remember the excitement.  Beating UCF in the Citrus Bowl and having him run up and body slam the wall right below us after the game.  The animation on the sidelines.  The no-nonsense (@The Sheriff can attest to this) attitude and putting his whole heart into his 20 hour days.

That was when USF football was so much fun to watch.  I know you can "never go home" but I'd take him back in a minute as head coach and I believe he would come back.  And it sure sounds like he is still emotionally invested in the team.

If you young'ns don't understand why us old farts keep talking about Jim Leavitt, here is a short primer.

I would play part of that video for the team before the weekend.  F***, once again I’m ready to run through a wall but I’m so much older now…

Let me get the assisted living and rehab center on standby .

CJL’s teams were built from GRIT, but CJS’ teams were born with GRIT. Just wait for this team to emerge from the GRIT and destroy all teams in their way!

Is anyone feeling the wrath of the pimp hand to inspire them?

Not sure, I’m trying to stay positive since CJS seems to be here till the end of next season. CJL needs to be an advisor to this teams coaching staff. We can’t keep doing Clemson things without Clemson things. CJS needs to pivot differently while looking for success.

This video epitomizes CJL to a tee - he always emphasized the proverbial fight in the dog over the dog in the fight

As he stated, if he was in-charge and in CJS’ specific predicament, he would find the 22 guys who wanted to work and put them on the field (regardless of talent)

I have no doubt that if CJL in his prime was coaching this specific roster, with this schedule, he would be 4-1 (at worst, 3-2)

Was that a tear running down my cheek watching those Auburn and WVU highlights?

So funny in the podcast when he said we paid Kentucky Wesleyan $20K to come to Tampa and play.  LOL.

****, that got me pumped just hearing his voice.  Love the shades.  Wish we could bring him back and turn this thing around.
