Firing him won't accomplish anything right now.  Let him finish the year.  But, if as I expect, he goes 2-10 again this year, then yes, he needs to go.  Jeff Scott is a great guy, but he simply can't win.  I don't know why that is, but he is incapable of winning.  But, there's no point in firing him now.  That would guarantee you a 1-11 season.  The players would quit, if they haven't already, so there's no real point in doing it now.  You're not going to get anyone great to replace him now anyways

What is the positives of keeping him if he loses this conference opener that people want to keep him for?

The problem comes where "if" turns to "when" for a coaching change?  What happens if you wait until the end of the season and the team wins 4 or 5?

Pretty sure anyone on our staff could have led us to a 41-3 blowout defeat today. Scott won't be fired before the season is over, but good grief the guy just seems to be so far in over his head.

He will not be fired mid season not matter what.  Kelly is so invested in Scott I’m not sure how bad it would have to get to can him.

And if the team finishes 2-10 or 3-9? Does Kelly let him see WKU on 9/2/23?

You dont fire him now. You fire him with a few games left in the season once you identify who you want as the new coach.

The board of trustees should be identifying a new AD and if MK doesnt fire Scott after this season. You fire both after next season is a disaster.

I’m not saying it because I agree with it or think it’s the right thing to do.  It’s the reality of the ****** situation we’re in.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
