Story time:

My other school, arizona state, recently fired Herm Edwards, the head football coach. ASU has had a pretty bad start to the season, losing to eastern michigan and facing NCAA sanctions re: recruiting. Yet, the interim head coach said something I find entirely relevant to this USF football team:

Conference play hasn't started yet. We are 0-0.

I think that is important to remember for the USF bulls. IF the type of gameplay from last week continues, I do not think this team will have an issue getting 4+ conference wins. (though my opinion on the matter remains, USF will beat USF every week)

USF football is 0-0 right now.

Houston looks horrible and teammates are fighting each other. Cincy is having a hard time staying afloat. Other than maybe ECU, USF has the most positive momentum right now.

To bring this back to ASU, the sun devil community is reminding each other: the rose bowl is still achievable. We are 0-0.

For USF, multiple conference wins are still achievable in this last season of the glorious AAC.

I have been saying this since before training camp. 1-3 was always the most likely OOC outcome with 5-7 being a reasonable goal this season. If we can find a way to beat Louisville (we are still big underdogs on the road), then 6-6 or 7-5 and a bowl game becomes the target. If we can play .500 ball in conference play and look competitive, win or lose, then this program is clearly heading back in the right direction.

I will stay with my original hopes that we find away to get 6 or more wins this season.

Our record is 0-0?  I'm not sure this kind of recordkeeping will help our business model succeed.  Unless, of course, there is a second set of books.

If we beat Louisville, then I really believe that we will have the confidence and momentum necessary to give us a solid shot of winning the AAC.

yes. our conference record is 0-0. it is objectively true that this team can still compete for a strong conference record.

it's the book that matters.

We can beat L'ville . . . we just have to play as well and better than we played in Gainesville. Hope we have some guys healed up.

Am hopeful to close up OOC at 2-2 and then do great in conference play.

Well since I graduated in Spring of 2021 we are 1-0 against FBS opponents, under Jeff Scott, when I'm in attendance. So by that historical trend it's a good thing I'll be in the stadium tomorrow .
