I expect that we will hear about these big donations every month or so. They want to keep the momentum and buzz surrounding the new stadium moving forward. I am quite certain that there are a few other big-name donors that have already committed funds. This is excellent news. Worst case scenario, we are 1/40th of the way to fully funding the new stadium, assuming the high-end estimate of $400 million.

It's Great Exposure!

A 40,000-seat stadium would cost around $300 to $400 million

Amenities over seating. It's the consistent feedback from everyone who has built a stadium in the last 10 years.

We will borrow.

The state will support.

I feel like it's the same thing on every thread. Everyone needs to stop freaking out and just enjoy this. Get excited.

Amalie stadium  sounds good.

Amalie Oil purchased the naming rights to the home arena of the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2014. The exact terms of the sponsorship agreement are unknown to the public. However, league experts suggest that the deal is worth $1-$2 million per season for 15-30 years.

I believe AMALIE IS vinik's company . Vinnik could  have Amalie arena and Amalie stadium both in tampa.

I agree with building to demand, but I'm starting to think we need to be at 45,000 simply to match the 3 smallest stadiums in the Big 12 (TCU, Baylor and UCF) which would give them a reason to come calling.  And Duke is the only stadium under 45,000 in the ACC at 40,000.

Yes but also college football attendance has been trending down for last 7 years.

I think 40,000 would be a good number.

All right, I agree but 40,000 is the minimum for the initial bowl.  If people start coming back to games in droves and we say we can expand to 50,000 when needed I'll never see that in my lifetime.  And I forgot Cincy is at 40,000 which will be the smallest in the B12.

I could be wrong on that but I  always heard he was an oil owner  and  amalie was owned by his family.

He's a Fund Manager . . . Amalie is Family owned.

Here is a nice story about how he decided to buy the Lightning. GREAT to have him adopt USF.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
