We are seeing progress everywhere else but defense.

And you can't blame injuries anymore.

There are actual schematic issues. That's coaching and planning.

no but you can blame lack of talent and depth

Scott said it in his press conference....guys are in position and cant make plays. They only have 15 guys on defense that play.

I won't crush the DC, but if they don't fix it this off-season I will blame the staff for not addressing a huge hole in the team.

recruit recruit recruit

if there isnt an influx in talent the result wont change

The DC can only do so much with the guys he has on the field. Defensive talent is mostly the issue....not all of it but alot.

I like our offense... i actually like our defense players....

Our D coordinator couldn't manage a cluster f'k

I like the progress we are making on offense but defense has major talent issues. They play hard but the talent isnt there

Yes. We have major talent and depth issues on defense, however coaching is also to blame.  Watch the film room on TDS and you’ll see Seth break it down.  Outdated techniques being taught and players out of position is not a talent issue it’s coaching.  Spencer needs to go.

Third and fourth down were scary on Halloween week.

Its probably bit of both scheme and talent.

The coach is responsible for both.

Hire a new DC.

No next year you can’t expect improvement because it will be the DCs first year and then we need to learn a new scheme and get in his guys, we need at least three years to expect any improvement

Read his bio, Spencer's career success has been as more of the big play and turn over creating variety, and less of the tough nosed win every down.  Apply that philosophy to the talent and depth issues we have, you get what we got.

We were always going to give up a ton of yards and points, but right now we don't make the 5-6 plays a game that allow you to win shootouts.

It appeared to me that there was a lot of our guys diving at the ball runner's feet instead of sound tackling fundamentals.  I'm not savvy enough to know if that was because of being out of position or  knowing how but not following through on not enough tackling practice.

Last I checked the scoreboard doesn't have a spot for current bank balance on it.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
