There was actually no truth to that. The player he was referencing was Mike Ford. At the time, the SEC/Bama allowed partial qualifiers and the Big East did not. Saban ran his mouth knowing that no one would hold him to account and that the media would take the bait and run with it, which they did. F@*k Saban (although he is a great coach).

I didn't have any one player in mind. Just thinking that our scores were moving downward. Can't even remember the initials of the scores. I'm getting old buddy.

The funny part about the sour grapes from Saban was that by 2007, USF was no longer able to take more than 2 partial qualifiers per season I believe, per the Big East rule at that time. Alabama actually had more partial qualifiers on their 2007 team than USF did.
