The difference between the ACC and the AAC is substantial. The difference between the AAC and the MWC is not as big. Those schools are out there on an island and would be a better fit in the MWC if Stanford and Cal are out of the mix.

Makes sense.

B12 doesn't have any pacific time zone teams, and the MWC's tv deal is with..... Fox and CBS. ESPN has zero pacific time inventory, with the furthest west schools of the B12 being Utah/BYU and the Zona's.

ESPN could have easily saved the pac 12 if they thought their programming was worth it.

I guess they didn't think MWC was worth it either...lol

They certainly aren't concerned with losing their bottom 4 programs.

At the very least they could have moved them to the big 12

I don't think the Pac 12 Networks really panned out quite like it looked on the whiteboard.

Interesting. Presumably both the B1G and Big 12 aka BigMid also knew this, but decided to pass. Would love to understand how this could translate to enough extra money that FSU et al. remain in place, but alas, I'm not willing to dig that much.

next call should be to the new Pac to tell them we are verry interested.

How so? How is PAC 2.0 considerably different than the AAC? Do we have some reason to believe that, if we are thinking in terms of playoff access, that the revised version will be a better opportunity? These look very similar to me, quality wise. Not seeing any geographical advantage to flying out to California and Oregon as opposed to just stopping by in Texas, as is currently the case.

By itself its true not much difference.  But as merger of one conference (whether it be AAC or Mountain West) with the best of the other one, a whole lot of difference. SMU, Boise State, San Diego State, WSU, OSU Memphis, Tulane and USF in one conference would arguably be almost on par with the former Big East, and would for the time being be our best option.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
