I think they will still add two without ND but not until the new contract has expired.

The rumor seems to be that the Big Ten still wants some inventory for a more consistent 4th time slot... and travel partners for USC/UCLA... Now that it appears Notre Dame is making its decision to accept  $60M from NBC and remain independent for the near term (at least until the Big Ten's new deal expires)... it all depends on whether ND struggles to schedule games, something that has not been a problem - but if the Big Ten goes to 10 conference games, it could become an issue for ND to get some of their traditional rivals (USC, Stanford?, Michigan, Michigan State, Purdue).  There would still be teams lining up to play the Irish in the other conferences, but Notre Dame is BIG on "traditions."

Honestly, I hope ND stays Independent ..... it would be one of the few traditional things still around.

Never thought I’d agree with this, but yes, me too.

Me too, I actually really respect them for giving everyone and every school in the NCAA the giant middle finger, while laughing “we are above the you and the whole conference thing”; takes balls man. Now, IF I were a school in a conference like say, the PAC 12 or BIG, I would simply not play them; or any school in any conference should refuse to play them (why do we all have to play by one set of rules and they get to play by their own? I know, money walks, BUT, if no one plays them, they are not worth anything). ND is the MOST overrated team of the last 20 years!! Every year they’re in the top 15 to start the year and every year they are mediocre. The fact they get to schedule their own games and STILL get a CFP priority and boat loss of cash and the other schools accept this is utterly ridiculous. Just my $0.02.

Mediocre? The have won 10+ games the past few years. They are just not going to compete with SEC. Neither is the rest of CFB. I can't stand ND but calling them mediocre is a bit of a stretch.

Ok, looking back on the previous season, yes, they’ve been pretty good the last number of years. I still have the mid 00’s to about 2012, haha.

I agree but there is no way this will ever happen, some teams will always chase the money and prestige of playing those guys and I don’t blame them, including us.  I hate them, they are good but always overrated, either way when you are the biggest **** on the block you can’t help but show it off every chance you get, my 2 cents.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.

Last I checked the scoreboard doesn't have a spot for current bank balance on it.
