I wouldn't subscribe to see Indiana vs Rutgers... but I would for USF vs North Texas (if I wasn't already subscribed). I watched quite a few USF games via ESPN+ last year, not football - but soccer, softball, women's basketball, etc. This.... I got ESPN+ as soon as it came out to get MLS and USL and then kept it simply because USF was on the docket. I pay whoever has my teams broadcast. I use ESPN for USF, Rowdies and Orlando City, F1(Haas), F2(Hitech), F3(Hitech) and W Series(fun), Peacock for EPL(Wolves), MLBTV for Rays(out of market), Fox for USASoccer and of course Redzone for fantasy. My point here is, now that I have the option to do so, i drop or add whichever broadcast to see what I want to see. As the poster above says, i certainly wouldn't subscribe to see Indiana v Rutgers but if they were one of my teams, i most certainly would. And yes, I watch way to much sports.
