USF would be wise to hedge that bet IMO. I hope she'll get 5 more one-year contracts, though, if things stay on their current course. She stated in the article that she "Bleeds Green and Gold" and would have signed a five year deal if it was offered.

The answer is in the article, the "genius" is the Board of Governors. See the excerpt below, which is from the article: Genshaft's previous contracts were for five-year periods. Mullis explained that the Board of Governors indicated in late 2015 that it was "not favorably disposed" to approve any contract for a sitting president that extended beyond one year. "We can agree or disagree with the sense of that guidance," said Mullis, noting that Genshaft's re-appointment is contingent upon confirmation from the Board of Governors. They said they wouldn't know the president of their universities if they hit them over the head with a 2 x 4. Seems like all the USF students know Judy. Love her - and her husband. Great people.

Totally agree about Judy. She seems to be everywhere supporting her students. I only wish we'd make a new commercial so people don't think of us as a "regional" powerhouse but a "global" powerhouse. Popular Post BDYZR Posted March 4, 2016 Group: Member Topic Count: 486 Content Count: 12,475 Reputation: 2,855 Days Won: 25 Joined: 12/14/2005 Popular Post Share Posted March 4, 2016 Quick story; Judy keeps some USF gear in her car. One day she followed a student all the way into a parking garage. The student had another schools license plate cover. Judy waited for the student to park and pulled in behind the car. When the student got out of her car Judy asked if they were a student at USF. The student said yes, a graduate student. Judy gave the student some USF swag and asked the student to please put it on the car. GO BULLS!

Probably the same might be said for either team, but there can be no denying that the combo if the two would allow for a big influence in the Florida market.
