Your exclamation points are worthless without a mention of an imminent OCS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why don't we just make a deal with TSA to have the lot including RJS an adjunct part of the University of South Florida.  Then we would instantly have an OCS stadium.

Go Bulls!

You guys are pretty harsh. I thougnt he was pretty close to right on target.

And I welcome him to our board.

You're a double agent...you don't count.

On some things, yes .... some things were a joke:

- they are a significantly more attractive addition to P5 expansion than we are

- they are the most popular school in town (a social media demographic affiliation map showed that they owned central Florida)

- They have an OCS that they put 40k people into every game

- Their president is in some union with several of the BIG 12 presidents and he networks with those guys all the time. We have f***ing Genshaft. I hear a term all the time "Gen-Shafted" and not just from the blowhard who is napping at his desk atm, but from a lot of people not affiliated with that school. She's burned more bridges than Sherman.

- It pains me to say that they are clearly the better option for expansion than we are.

- We are paying 3 separate individuals for our head-coaching position. 2 of them not to be our **** coach.

- First we need an OCS

Announcing plans to build an OCS now is the right move...http://newsok.com/which-combination-of-schools-is-the-best-big-12-option/article/5432044

Compare that with the most recent Big 12 expansion. West Virginia was a major-conference program that just got squeezed out by politics and geography. WVU football was Big 12-ready. And so was TCU. Here’s how we know. The Horned Frogs were building their jewel of a ballpark, the remade Amon Carter Stadium, at the time of their Big 12 invitation. There were no promises from the Frogs. No declaration that they were an up-and-comer.

TCU acted like a big-time program. It won the Rose Bowl, then set about the business of proving it belonged. It raised the money and broke the ground and built the stadium, without any promises from a major conference. When the opportunity arose, TCU was ready, and it had the remade Amon Carter for the Frogs’ first year in the Big 12.

That’s what Cincinnati and Boise State and the Florida schools and East Carolina need to do. Don’t tell us what you would bring to the table in the Big 12. Tell us what you’re bringing to the table now in college football.

TCU has had an OCS since 1930. They just rebuilt a nicer one .... kind of like RayJay already is.

Don't derail his thesis because of facts. Or add that TCU has the fanbase support to make an enormous expenditure like a stadium without fear of bankrupting the athletic department.

There is no obvious, clear cut front runner between the two schools. As mentioned before. UCF football has been more in the media's eye the last 2 years. Let's see how that plays out now that most of their experienced great talent has left.

Even after beating a year where they beat Baylor, you would have thought they would be filling a 45,000 seat OCS. The closest they came was their opening game vs a FBS school. Still only drew between 30k and 35k for the Tulane and Tulsa games.

Genshaft and Harlan have as much, actually more respect and political pull than the UCF President. Genshaft served out a full term as the Chairperson of the NCAA Board of Directors. Unanimous vote of NCAA Presidents and Chancellors on the Board. Harlan is on the NCAA Competition Board.

These two are both widely respected and hold some political clout nationally.

Big picture is that for the most part the 2 schools are probably a toss up and better served as a package deal.

If a conference were to look at overall athletic department success, both past and current, we are the more successful school with a chance to compete immediately, at the highest levels in all sports, but basketball. Football maybe a couple of years away still.

If they look at just the most recent 2 year period in football they will see UCF was great in 2013 and decent in 2014. Having had to replace a Heisman candidate and some major talent on both offense and defense from their successful teams of the last 2 years this year is a question mark. After that, what are they competitive nationally in?

The rest of the business issues are all a toss up.

You'd think a team that "owned central Florida" would draw better than that ..... and actually, it was an FCS school, but one only 30 minutes away and one that would bring in the casual fan just for the half time show ..... and also remember that their attendance figures are announced, not butts in seats. One good thing about bench seating is that it can hide a lot of attendance deficiencies.

If people want to say that UCF is the better option STRICTLY based on the on the field performance the last several years, really can't argue with that and can just hope that a decision isn't made in the very near future with THAT being the driving force ... but those trying to build a case for them over us on factors away from that are just ******* up a rope.

"This is why schools like Houston and Colorado State are sinking fortunes into new facilities and why Tulsa and SMU are making big splashes with head coaching hires. They’re gearing up, which puts immense pressure on places like BYU and Boise State. The highly visible leagues have to monitor what happens at these schools because they might be more appealing when current contracts expire or when a league just has to grow. A lot can change in a decade, and for proof just look at what happened from kickoff of the 2005 season to the present at WVU"

What are we doing besides maintaining our composure in silence? Not being a smart ass. If other schools are beautifying themselves in anticipation, that's direct competition for limited opportunity.

Aside from an OCS, what sport hasn't received a massive upgrade to its facilities in the past 5 years?

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
