Ok then , if we are talking Markets, then the following makes the most sense (adding 6) - Cinn, USF, UCF,  BYU,  CSU,  (Tulane, Memphis or Houston, pick one)

The Big 12 is more ratings driven than market driven. Perhaps out of necessity, the B12 is betting that either a la carte cable or some net based game-changer will eviscerate the financial basis for the B1G and other conference networks leaving them holding some crappy additions from a competitive stand point. Market size matters, I'm sure, but there are many other factors that will be considered as well.

So what does conversation have anything to do with USF?

Actually, a good question which Killbilly answered part of earlier.  UH would be considered for the Big 12 as there is a history of them being in the same conference as Texas, Baylor, Texas Tech, and TCU.  The old SWC.  When the SWC was destroyed, that was the beginning of the conference realignment/consolidation we see going on.

You could make the argument that there are many similarities between UH and USF in that they are both urban schools with a lot of non-traditional students and not a massive amount of fans like the flagship schools tend to have.  A lot of the powers that be at flagship universities and the media tend to look down on that.  UH has suffered because of realignment once before despite a lot of success.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
