We were playing with house money after beating the Yankees. That was seriously all we wanted (I was at the game) and all we thought we would get. Rays are a power. We could get swept by Hou and I don’t think most fans will be too upset (disappointed sure).

Rays got too cute putting Shane in on only 4 days rest and out of bullpen.

If you were planning on using him then let him start. Cash tries to be the smartest guy in the room. Don't make it more difficult than it is.

Right! The Rays knew this all year never upgraded starting pitching. It was destined to fail.

That's not what he was saying.  He was commenting on Shane being brought out of the pen instead of starting the game.  They tried to upgrade the starting pitching from within with Rasmussen, Patino and Baz

This was never going to work.  They were all Rookies.  Did you see how nervous Baz was out there?  They got experience this year but they were never going to win the World Series with that pitching staff.
