GAME DAY vs. Houston

Saturday will mark the Bulls’ fifth road game on the year and the second of back-to-back road games that will complete USF’s six road trips on the season. Houston has won the last four meetings in the series, dating to 2013, including the last meeting, which occured in Houston, 57-36. The Bulls’ last win vs. the Cougars came in 2002, USF’s last season as an independent, and saw the Bulls down Houston, 32-14, in Houston to complete a 9-2 season. USF is 0-4 so far in road games on the year and the Bulls’ last road win came over a year ago at ECU (45-20) on Oct. 26, 2019. USF has lost its last six road games and is 4-13 on the road in the last three seasons.

STREAK ENDERS: USF has entered its last two games with Houston with 7-0 records and a national ranking to start a season and seen Houston end both streaks. In 2017, 7-0 USF was ranked No. 17 before D’Eriq King’s 20-yard TD run with :11 to play led Houston to a come-from-behind 28-24 win in Tampa. In 2018, 7-0 USF was ranked No. 21 before falling, 57-36, in Houston as King posted 551 total yards and accounted for seven touchdowns.

RAZOR CLOSE: USF’s one-point loss (34-33) at Memphis marked the Bulls’ closest loss since falling by one, 37-36, vs. Syracuse in Tampa in 2012. The Bulls’ previous two-point road loss at Temple (39-37) this season, is also the second-closest loss in the last eight seasons dating to 2012. In fact, the one-point loss marked just the fourth in program history, with two occuring in the program’s first season (1997), and the two-point loss was also just the fourth ever.

ROAD REVIVAL: USF’s two highest scoring games on the season have come in its last two road games – 33 points at Memphis and 37 at Temple in razor-thin losses (34-33 and 39-37). USF posted 27 points in the first half at Memphis to record its highest scoring half of the season and had 21 first half points at Temple, its second highest scoring half on the year. The Bulls led by 13 with 4:36 to play at Memphis and 31-26 entering the fourth quarter at Temple.

Ugh did Noah get COVID? Or is this some other issue. No one in their right mind can take this session seriously for USF. This is nothing more than glorified spring practice games...nothing more.

ok -- so no pressure and no need to get upset if they lose today. You can practically expect this will be a futile effort.

 

just hoping for an interesting game to watch. Do not allow yourself to get wound up in watching 20 year old people playing sports.
