And lastly, I do hope that USF has a contract clause with Strong re: Fire for Cause if any NCAA violations. He has a new job at Alabama so he can try to reshape his image and hide out for a while. If USF can save some $$ so be it.

Well, his brother was when he was a coach here. It would be funny if it wasn't so sad. Cheated to improve SAT scores for a couple of recruits by employing a SAT prep teacher who wasn't on the approved list and provided housing for the week of study. It did work, their scores did go up. The recruits involved then ended up playing with a different program and never did sign with USF. One reason why we got off lightly on that, its was minor and there was no USF benefit. Still we did cheat a bit and the punishment was the loss of two scholarships for one year (we had three open anyway) and not eligible for post season play for one season (when we only won eight games, I think). Not exactly a noticeable punishment.
