Saw thread title and clinched up a bit ...... I may be misremembering but wasn't it you who at some point when talking about Murphy made a comment about "if he qualifies". If it wasn't you and nobody else has mentioned that, just write this off to senility.

It was me who made that comment. However, the NCAA's decision to waivie the standardized test score requirement for incoming freshman student-athletes was a positive game changer for Murphy and USF.

the logjam had nothing to do with it

The "logjam" comment in the Tweet made me lol. That kid wasn't going to play much more than BJ Mack. Once USF got Oduro they probably talked to Okpomo about a redshirt year. That probably didn't sit well with him so he chose to reopen & CBG probably told him that he respects the decision.

AKA mutual decision.

I'd bet big that this is exactly what happened. Barring more injuries, there was no way he was going to play many minutes. He's a project that you'd hope to get a couple of years out of at the end of his eligibility.

Does this mean that Oduro has gotten his waiver to play this year?

Looks like wouldn't be a replacement until 2021-22 ..... and I'd think CBG would be going after immediate help at the 5. Do we just go without a true one when Durr gets a breather ....... or sitting because of foul trouble, although that's an area I think he's really improved in.

I may be in the minority but I believe Oduro will get a waiver. I also think the first time transfer waiver rule will pass and go into effect immediately which will benefit guys like Makhtar Gueye.

Who knows if Gueye is their top target. That reporter mentioned other targets on the Rivals message board but it is behind a paywall.

The coaches are very confident he will get the waiver.
