The Dance was nowhere near a given this year even with Lex in there. The experience this is going to give some of the ones who wouldn't have played much this year could be invaluable in maybe stringing some Dance years together in the near future ..... and you never know how this one will play out either.

Thats a glass half full take.  It makes sense though.  Look at what the women went through last year and they are likely to break through this year because of it.

I just hate always having to wait till next year.  We still have enough talent and good coaching to be pretty decent this year.  Still sucks though.

It's making lemonade out of lemons. One door of opportunity closes, another opnes up. CBG's still building a foundation and any experience those younger guys get this year should pay dividends down the line. I'd have preferred not seeing a lot of minutes going to them this year but it is what it is ....... and who knows, the staff may be able to cobble together successful game plans not depending that much on the freshmen. The year was going to be an interesting one to begin with and it still is, for maybe a few different reasons.

Exactly!! You get it!! Coach Jose Fernandez had a lot of injuries last season and now is expected to have an amazing season this year. Same thing can be said for CBG next season. It keeps him at USF longer to build foundation. I have to admit that I was down yesterday after the news but now I’m back up! Hyped!!!!!!!!!  ultimate warrior 80s GIF

You really do see the positive in everything. I can not get myself to hyped over the Yetna injury. It's just awful and my hopes for this season are down the tubes.

**** it! Won’t be long before we hear USF fans wanting to fire another coach.

I don't know. I would like to believe the fan base has learned enough times with MBB, to take any good you get.

Brian Gregory has a way of messaging that sounds fairly authentic. I think he has been honest with the fans as to where they are and where expectations should be. It's refreshing.

I fully expect BG will be hired away at some point but who knows.....maybe after his Georgia Tech experience he won't jump ship at the first opportunity to make a quick buck but I doubt it.

We just learned our best player, who could jump out of the gym, best rebounder and is an absolute freak that will make a career in hoops and can stretch the defense by shooting from the perimeter is out for this much anticipated season.  The end is not near but the dreams we had this season have taken a huge hit, to think otherwise is to have your head in the sand. Tough to make lemonade out of these lemons, give us a few days to wallow in our misery and then we will pull ourselves up by our boot straps and lower our expectations like we do every year for our mediocre teams and try to regain some of the excitement.  it is tough being a bulls fan.

I think USF still have some good talent. I am expecting an enjoyable season. Yetna and specifically his rebounding will be missed but I am interested in seeing what adjustments BG makes.

I wouldn't say mediocre. It's hard for me to so easily discount this back court and team defense. There are a few ways this team can overcome this. For example, IF Durr has developed a mid-range jumper, that solves a great deal of the loss on offense. If we are even average perimeter shooters this year, that solves a great deal of the loss on offense. We have the bodies and a coach who demands maximum effort every minute of the game which could make up for the rebounding. I think it's too soon to wallow in our sorrow.
