You can recruit the best players in the world but if the coaching staff isn't putting them in the right position it doesn't matter. These 3rd and long conversions are a direct reflection of the poor coaching schemes. You can blame execution all you want but if the coaches are not putting them in position to make plays even a 5* defensive player won't succeed.

but we don't nearly the best players in the world on D. There are three freshmen and two redshit freshmen getting serious minutes.

Change it to "3rd down," because there was no defense present.

Not saying we do but you could and it won't matter if the coaching can't coach the talent and out them in positions to succeed.

I know we're not the best defense in the league, but if I can call plays that the opposing offense is running and our D does nothing to adjust, there's a serious problem.

I am not a Football Genius by any stretch of the imagination. But for God's sake, if I could see it coming, then...

On a side note, for everyone that thought Strong was out after this season... Guess what? CCS is here to stay like it or not!
