GAME DAY vs UConn

One of eight remaining unbeaten teams in FBS football, three unbeaten and ranked in the AAC East Division, USF has won the last six meetings with UConn, including a 37-20 victory in Connecticut last year. The series has featured close games, 11 decided by eight points or less, but USF has won the last two by an average of 16 points. Former Big East foes, USF has faced UConn (10-5) and Cincinnati (7-8)15 times, the most of any programs in The American. USF’s 10 wins vs. UConn are the Bulls’ most against any opponent in program history.

BEST START/EARLIEST BOWL ELIGIBLE: 6-0 for the second straight season, and third time in program history, USF will be looking to equal the best start in program history posted with a 7-0 start last year. The Bulls’ Oct. 12 win at Tulsa made USF bowl eligible for the fourth straight season and the earliest ever in program history, bettering the Oct. 13 bowl eligibility reached in 2007 with a 64-12 victory over UCF. The Bulls have been bowl eligible by Oct. 15 or earlier each of the last three years and in October six times in program history.

CRONK: Coming off 151 yards at Tulsa, Jordan Cronkrite will look to equal a program record with his fifth straight 100-yard outing, equaling the marks set by Quinton Flowers (2016) and Marlon Mack (2015).

HOMECOMING: The Bulls are 12-9 all-time in Homecoming games and have won the last three straight, including 33-3 last year vs. Cincinnati. The Bulls have never faced UConn on Homecoming.

EXTRA PREP: UConn, coming off a bye week, will be the third opponent in USF’s last four games that has had more than a week to prepare for the game. Tulsa had eight days between games before facing the Bulls, which had five, last Friday and ECU had the previous week off due to Hurricane Florence.

Other Helpful Information

// New this season, we are offering children aged 12-under the exciting opportunity to enter the playing field through the Bulls tunnel and run across the end zone prior to the Bulls taking the field to start the game. No prospective student-athletes, defined as students aged 13 and up,  may be allowed to participate or chaperone any other participants. One parent per family may escort children through the experience if necessary. In order to participate, please visit the Junior Bulls on Parade tent in Bulls Bay on the south plaza to get a Beef O' Brady's Junior Bulls on Parade wristband. This tent may be found directly outside the ticket office.

Bulls Bay will open immediately following the Stampede, and the table will close at 6:00 PM. At that time you can go inside Gate C and sign up at a table there as well. Once you have signed up and received your wristband, you must enter the stadium at Gate C, where you will gather and wait for further instruction.

We only have 200 wristbands available, so make sure you arrive at Bulls Bay in a timely manner to ensure you can participate. You must be inside Gate C no later than 6:30 PM.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

    Terry Lucas, 09/26/22
