That was like a stress test after my heart attack.

A better throw from Rivers with 6 seconds left and they tie the game - happy we got out of there with the WIN

Also, I love the shot of Lovie when Barnet found Saloman wide open for the go ahead score . . . Priceless!

Just finished rewatching the game. We are lucky as hell getting out of there with a win. There are at least four times we got a break. For example,  The first TD could have been holding but they picked up the flag.

Can't believe I forgot to add the time extension on my DVR.  Game stopped recording with about 3 minutes to go in the game.  Had to see Salomon's game winning TD on a highlight.

Illinois had some nice breaks as well. The 3rd down pass play they had to set up the FG to go up 19-7 saw a beyond obvious holding call get missed. Vincent Jackson was mugged as the QB scrambled and right in plain sight of the referee.

We were our own worst enemy in that game with the penalties. The score was only close because of those penalties.

I agree.  Illinois is lucky that it wasn't a blowout also.  I can think of four penalties that were absolutely garbage calls and then, as John stated, with more discipline on our part, the game's not even close.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.

Last I checked the scoreboard doesn't have a spot for current bank balance on it.
