I don't have a problem with how soft this non conference schedule is, as long as it is the last year of it.

I can tell you what this schedule needs - 2 opponents who are big time programs, but not any good at MBB currently. That way fans see schools they know on the schedule, but it doesn't add any unwinable games.

I'll take just under .500 this year, if that leads to just over .500 next year against a tougher schedule.

I may know this schedule sucks.

You may know this schedule sucks.

The team may know the schedule sucks.

But if they are 10-2 (just throwing numbers out there) are casual fans or students going to think they are playing against sucky teams and winning or will they see "Hey this team is winning, they must be good!"

That non conference schedule is "weak" if you are UF. For us, it's about right.  Most of those teams are probably as good or better than us.  Play the best?  Getting our ass kicked by Duke, Kansas, UNC, etc. every night doesn't help us get better.

Given the fact that we've never played Duke, KU or UNC I guess we'll never know.

Alabama A & M was 3-27 last year and Austin Peay was 11-19.  The best of the bunch is Ohio who is respectable.

I'll steal JK's attendance thunder for these home games.  If we average 1K (butts in seats or "announced") I'll be blown away.  Yuengling could give-a-way free beers and we couldn't get more than 1K in the door.

Butts in seats doesn't have anything to do with "development" and i just mentioned some of the "best".  Take your pick

Let's also not forget that the AAC conference schedule is not the same joke that he AAC football schedule is relatively speaking.

You do know our football conference is 6 and our basketball conference is 7, right? And that's not relatively speaking. Yes, I know there are more conferences in basketball, but I'm going to assume you don't think conferences like the Big Sky are in the same realm as the ACC and such. Just like we don't believe the FCS conferences are playing on the same level as the FBS ones.

We’ve played both Duke and KU before
