Best CBG quote from article:

"... I liked him on the glass every bit as much as I liked his 19 points. We could use a lot more of that over these next three or four weeks."

We're peaking at the right time!

MEMPHIS, Tenn., MARCH 1, 2018 – The Bulls put on a clinic the whole way in Memphis and never trailed, winning on Thursday night, 75-51. USF held a 22-point lead at the half and led by as much as 27 at one point in the second half, their largest lead in conference play this season. The win marks the first time the Bulls have defeated the Tigers in Memphis since 2003.

The Bulls scored 45 in the first half, which is the most in any first half this season for USF and the second-most in any half, behind 47 points in the second half against Bethune-Cookman on Dec. 14.

Individually, Payton Banks (Orange, Calif.) led the way with 19 points. Banks reached 1,000 for his career with his 16th point of the night, which came on a basket with 12:07 left in the second half. Banks was 6-for-11 from the field, including 4-for-8 from three on the night. Banks opened the game on fire, hitting his first two attempts from three and scoring 15 in the first half on four made threes.

Rest of story

I don't know much about the selection process. But if by some stretch they win the AAC tournament, they are in the dance right?

The win gives the Bulls nine on the season, which is the most for USF since the 2014-15 season. The Bulls also surpassed their conference win total from last season with the victory.

Yup. To the consternation of the nation.

And most definitely as a sixteenth seed.

If they played like they did last night in every game, we'd probably get to the semis of the conference tournament and ruin some tournament dreams. The funny thing is that the team has been close on some games all season-if they bring it not a stretch to believe they could get there.

Won't happen, but if we get the auto bid, would we have the worst record ever for a team in the tournament?

Per this 2013 article, at least one team, their #1 ranked worst, would have a worse record than us even if we lose Sunday but win the tourney, assume having to win 4 games, putting us at 13-22 (.371)

1. 1996 Central Florida, 10-18 (.357)

The Knights had seven wins entering the 1996 Atlantic Sun tournament. Among their 18 losses -- blowout defeats to Davidson by 39 points, Georgia by 49 points and College of Charleston by a whopping 52. So their 22-point defeat to No. 1 UMass in the tournament should be considered a moral victory.

Had no idea they had those in basketball, too ...
