This game was on the coaching staff.  Period!

We lost with :11 left. Just went back and watched the last drive. We snapped the ball with time on the play clock as follows:

:09

:25

:23

:19

:03

:16

FG with :04 left

Strong and Gilbert can talk all they want about execution, but they could/should have made the FG with no more than :05 left

once they got into Fg range that should have been their goal. if they were going FG all the way then run clock. they actually tried a quick draw on fist down(never works BTW) when they should have been burning clock.

There was no clock management on that drive.

This. And it was inexcusable. Our coaches owe the players an apology.

For so many reasons.

For not utilizing the strengths of the players. For trying to fit square pegs into round holes. For not changing a system that doesn't work for the team as well as the old system did. For clearly not game planning a single game, for poor game management.

Houston still had one TO they would have stopped the clock on the last drive

Even with Houston having 1 timeout make them burn it and now they don’t have a chance to draw something up on the 4th down play

Then you force them to use it.

Once we got past midfield you slow things down and kill the clock. Worst case scenario is you punt and make them drive the field with no timeouts.
