Can we still make a NY6 bowl if we lose a close game vs Memphis in the CCG? Or is it a requirement for the G5 representative to be their conference champ? Theoretically we could have a fairly large lead in the polls if we win out until then.

Point of order, you need to be a Conference Champ to be guaranteed a NY6 bowl.  Theoretically, another G5 team could get invited, though highly unlikely.

Question because I'm too lazy to do the research...

The highest ranked G5 champion gets the NY6 slot.  Does this assume they are ranked in the top CFP 25.  Here's my thinking, what if all G5 conference champs have 2-3 losses and none of them are ranked in the top CFP 25.  Does that then mean the G5 slot goes to another team?
