Georgia Tech is coming off a bye and Miami didn't look great.

We keep winning, we'll be top 10 by the end of it all.

Meanwhile, NCST and SDSU are chomping at the bit to jump us. We need to win convincingly, particularly because people will apply the transitive property to our game since C. Florida just beat them down.

Don’t expect much movement for us this week. I’ll go ahead and predict 18 AP/15 Coaches yet again at this time next week. Edit: Utah has a shot at USC as well. We keep winning, we'll be top 10 by the end of it all. That is likely, if we win the Peach Bowl and are undefeated. Until then, many one loss teams, or possibly even two loss teams, will still be ranked ahead of us or jump over us with a good win. For example, in the AP Poll, ND moved up 5 spots and jumped over us with a win over an unranked UNC. BTW, here are the ranked teams who have byes this week: PSU 3, 3 VT 15, 17 ND 16, 19 Even though USF stayed at #18 in the AP poll, we increased our total points by 42 (440 to 482). Last week we were 67 points away from #17 UL. This week, we are only 42 points away from #17 Michigan. But, with #15 VT and #16 ND having bye weeks we most likely will close the gap on them with a convincing win. It will be difficult to jump over them because of the large amount of points now separating us (135 and 101 respectively) . Of course, someone in front of them might lose. By the same token, someone behind us could have a bettter win and jump over us. The most likely case is #19 SDSU over Boise (who is only 17 points behind) and, perhaps, #20 NCST @ Pitt (who is 61 points behind). In the Coaches poll we moved up one spot to #15 and also increased our total points by 60 (562 to 622). There is a 166 point gap between USF and #14 OSU. Since both VT (17) and ND (19) having byes are behind us, we might be able to put more distance from them with a convincing win. However, #16 Michigan is only 10 points behind us and their win @Indiana might garner them enough points to jump over us, even with us beating Cincy at home. I don't envision SDSU #18 jumping over us, with both of us winning at home, since they are 106 points behind. So, as long as USF wins, we should be able to pretty much maintain our current position in the polls.
