Though I'm not sure. The U.S. makes up less than 5% of the world's population. Yes, there is life outside of our borders. Hoops , especially the NBA is wildly popular across the globe. The numbers say basketball is a distant second behind soccer and is growing.

The next AAC contract is going to be negotiated next year, and it's not going to be pretty in this cost cutting world. All major sports networks are in a crunch after losing millions of subscriber fees. Not necessarily. Look for something more creative from the league via social media outlets. Unlike last time, the AAC can also shop around their product including various tier rights.

Professional soccer being the most. Worst f'n league on tv. Certaintly not worth the dollar value ESPN paid and now they know it.

The NBA is one step removed from the WWE. It's not good basketball. I love college hoops, but if you gave me NBA court seats I would decline them. Don't decline them, just PM me if someone gives you those tix... Depends on the teams playing I guess but NBA can be very entertaining (as long as it's not Raptors/Bucks)

The NBA isn't even the the second most popular league in the country. If you're saying basketball the sport is the second most popular in the world, different story. Soccer is undisputedly #1, everything after that depends on if you're measuring money, attendance, TV viewers, leagues sizes, etc. The NBA could be the 2nd most popular league in the world despite not being #2 in America. By your own definition soccer can't possibly he #1 globally because it's not #1 in USA. P.S. NBA is not the #2 league in the world, just pointing out the flaw in your argument.
