He'll be ok. At UF,both assistants from Billy Donovan's championship teams landed coaching gigs and failed, but life went on and they found good assistant jobs. Antiqua was just dealt a very unlucky hands. To b honest, he just started getting decent players.

Sheriff,

While Seth did bring excitement/street ball to the Sun Dome, he also should be held accountable for letting about 5 local kids (3 of which played in the Final Four for other schools get away).  2 of them were NBA players, 1 lottery pick.....and they all wanted to come to USF.

I think most people around here after going through Robert McCullum and Orlando Antigua would love to have Seth Greenburg's regular NIT visits each season.

Career record at USF was .519 (2 NIT appearances in 7 seasons), at Va Tech was .580 (5 NIT and one Tourney appearance in 8 seasons).

You don't like to be average to above average.....ok....how would you like to be dumpster fire TERRIBLE.

Ditto for Stan Heath. You have to wonder what our record would be the last two seasons if we have just stuck with Stan. Josh Heath is putting up some solid minutes with GT as a senior. Had 15 points against UNC in an upset this past weekend.

We love FCOA personally.  Will miss him but can understand the move had to be made. That said, there really isn't anyone other than Calipari, Coach K or Petino that could ever make much out of USF basketball.  Too many established programs to recruit against, no history to draw them here.  I know, CJL had no history and did okay but, then, we never really won anything.  CWT had no history but, again, haven't really won anything.  So if we can get someone to get us to .500 - .600 in conference that is as much as can be hoped for.  Don't see any national championships in our future.  I'll be happy with some entertaining and competitive teams.

I know someone presently available... with better facilities, Coach Seth Greenberg could be a great fit.

Three. Two. One... let's hear the moaning (but anyone wanting Leavitt back better not be among the cry babies against Seth).

Leavitt beat top 10 teams and won post season games. Apples and oranges.

And lost about 1/2 his conference games.

Edit: Not saying he wasn't a better coach - just that it is going to be touch to find someone to turn this around.

Without additional information concerning Antigua's culpability in the NCAA investigation, this is incredibly, unbelievably stupid. There is no one available who can or wants to turn this program around. Thanks for making my season-tickets worthless again. It should be a lot of fun going to the games knowing every single person on that team has already packed it in. Good Times!

I think you can win at USF. Not maybe every year but we should be able to recruit and compete.Look just down the road and see what Joe Dooley is doing at FGCU. He had 4 average years back coaching ECU in the 90's but had a .523 record when he was fired. Then went to Kansas as an assistant for many years. Now look at what he is doing getting paid just $275,000 per year. Sure they play in a easier conference, but he has won 21+ games 3 seasons in a row. Going to the NIT, CIT and the tourney.

He's got 10 kids on his roster from Florida and his best player is a UCF transfer who's hometown is in Georgia. Talk about making lemonade out of lemons.

That was just in response to Terry's tongue-in-cheek observation that anyone who wants Leavitt back shouldn't be against Seth coming back .... and tough is an understatement to trying to find someone who can, and wants to, turn this mess around.
