Joey Knight suggested that King and Strong are friends and King could stay on. King was very positive of the Strong hire at Texas when he worked in the media.

King has good relations with Taggart and Strong. I would like to believe that staying local will win him out over the lure of the P5. He could go from USF to one of the Big 3 or another SEC or ACC school, especially when he can ride Flowers to another hot year. They need QB coaches and recruiting at FL, he could provide that as soon as next year.

I heard a rumor up here that OC may be on the table for him at Oregon. We all know Tags calls his own plays so OC would be just a title and would allow King a big step towards eventually being a HC which appareantly is a goal of his.

As much as I'll be sad to see our season end Thursday it will be nice to finally see how the staffs shake out.

That would be huge for him and a bit of a risk if you're CWT. King is as 813 as you get, especially with the local things he has done and his ties with the Bucs. You never know what someone is thinking, but OC would be a solid reason to move elsewhere. Keeping King would be great for CCS and I believe they have a solid relationship too. I figured he would ask Weist or Reaves (or both) to be his OC. I just hope one of those three stay. Need some semblance of continuity.

If UConn is smart they will offer him the HC position. He wanted it last time and i think he'd do well.

Yeah UConn is in a very strange situation. Pretty much behind the 8 ball on this one. Weist would be a great familiar move for them, but doubt they pull that trigger.

I'm inclined to believe they are talking with Shiano. That being said, nothing will be announced until after the CFP if that is in deed the case. I think Shiano want's a CFP on his resume even if it's just at the DC level.

Their message board says that Skippy is a  candidate.

Interesting, kind of like his career coming full circle. Didn't he lead them from FCS to FBS?

I have to think with his LA Tech success he gets AAC or higher eventually. Sooner than later.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
