We lost both our OC and HC

USC will have plenty of time to game plan for our O

Our D showed improvement the second half of the season, but still has a ways to go

We have seen in last year's bowl and this year's first few games that our O gets rusty with time off and needs time to gel

For these reasons I think this game will be a struggle.

I think we will be fine. The players seem focused on getting the win against an SEC opponent.

It's not like we are sitting around doing nothing. We will also add some plays and who know play even better than before.

I was going to say, I hope we put in some new wrinkles. Nothing too complicated that requires a lot of new things to remember, clever twists on the tried and true.

And I hope we game plan for their O.

I think it's fair to be concerned.  All these new wrinkles could translate to confusion or an unfocused approach for a team of twenty year-olds.  But I think they'll overcome it and stick it to SC.

I think the players will try their best on the field to save their coaches' jobs.

Or save their own jobs before the purge.

Do players really think that deep? It seems to me that coaching is a job - and as such - one post season game of marginal consequence to fill in three hours of TV programming is probably not going to weigh heavily at review time. Assume you're on the losing team...do those players collectively say "Aw shucks guys, we really let coach Schmoe down...now he's probably gonna be fired because we lost by three". I dunno how much players really think in terms of "If we don't perform, coach is gone".

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
