They could if Taggert isncalling the plays.  BUT, I doubt they will.  Anything close to $2million per year would make him the highest paid assistant in the ncaa.  Arranda just got 1.8mil base at LSU.

For comparison, I think LSUs salary pool is about $5.8 million..

Some are in it for career moves .... May boil down to does Strong consider UO's DC a better career move than USF HC

It seems like HC of a the AAC team is a great career move... You get a P5 head coaching job after a couple good seasons.

Just a number though.  For a big name they could go back to the $$$ men.

I don't know. I got to imagine that Strong wants to run the show and prove himself. USF would allow him to do that and build his rep for his own p5  HC gig. Going to UO with CWT seems risky to me especially if these rumors of Strong not wanting to move any longer have any weight.

strong will take usf further than cwt did

Oregon poached Taggart. Taggart is not poaching Strong.

If Strong takes the DC job at UO then he wasn't going to be successful at USF anyway. You have to have a certain amount of pride and balls to be a Head Coach. Taking a DC job amounts to tucking your tail and hiding.

I wish Charlie Strong to remain STRONG and make the obvious choice.

This sums it up, you are exactly correct.  The best way to rehabilitate his HC rep is to be an actual HC.
