Whine, whine, whine.   Too many Penners just don't like to see/hear the truth/fact?

Not a fan of the Knight, but....Joey hit the nail square on the head with that report.

For once I agree with you. This  whining about the papers is really overdone. Seriously people have a problem with what JK said about last night MBB attendance? Hell, he went easy I could count the number of people there. In general our fan support for just about all sports is terrible. He is reporting what he sees...

I have a problem with where he said it, not that he said it. An article about the game should be a report about the game itself, without any snarky comments. If I want to read snark, I'll go to his blog, his Twitter or the other numbnuts columnists at TBT. A good journalist should be able to act like a responsible reporter when it calls for it.

I respect your opinion, TripleB and you have a good point. But my interpretation that this was not snarky. I have seen many sports writers start off their article with attendance. At the same time I believe it does deserve being questioned as there were many, many less people than what was reported. We know the reason why but this game has such a degree of bad attendance it "did" in fact become newsworthy. If this becomes the norm, which it probably does, then it becomes less newsworthy. Bottom line, if we had better attendance this is not even an issue. Again, I do respect your position on this.

As long as it's not in the same room, good for both of us.

What he reported was fact not opinion.   if you were there, then you know it was factual, or you're blind, or in denial.

I'd cover USF for the right price.

What would you guess they pay Knight?  45k?  Not to mention he gets all the hot dogs and nachos he can eat at each event.  He puts together a few two paragraph stories a month, tweets a bit, and triple checks attendance numbers.

Overpaid for what he does, but who else can you get for that?

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
