Temple likely wins AAC East, so what are we playing for?

Sucks that we could go 10-2, and still come in 2nd in the AAC East, but Temple gets 2 dregs to clinch: ECU & Tulane.  So, what goals remain for USF in 2016?  My 2 cents...please add yours.

1.  A bowl NOT in St. Pete.  No offense to that bowl, but it's a horrible football venue.  Hoping at 10-2, we get good match up at a place we'd love to travel.

2.  Win 10+ games for the first time in USF history.

3.  Recruiting momentum.  Taggart can certainly pursue some defensive studs with the promise of immediate or early playing time.

4. Pride.  This team seems to have a TON of unity and they'll want to win out & leave a legacy (and thump UCF again, to cap the regular season).

5.  Impact on season ticket sales.  Not sure it'll help, as this continues to ail the team.  This offense is fun to watch, but the defense is painful to witness.  Still, these games are a LOT more fun that Holtz' tenure, and CWT's first 2.

Any additional thoughts, Bulls fam?

Potentially finish the season 11-2 and ranked which would probably start our season ranked next year.

  • Ending season ranked.
  • Only losing 1 (ONE!!!) conference game.
  • 1,400+ yards for Mack
  • 4,000+ total yards for Flowers (and Heisman watch list for next year)

Won't effect ticket sales enough to notice; no big draws at home next year

And I hate this.  A USF team coming off the season we've had should be the draw.

Finishing ranked would be huge.

Also an opportunity to continue to build our brand heading into next year.

If Flowers enters next year on a Heisman watch list, that would be great attention for the program, and wouldn't hurt ticket sales.

I'm not ruling out us making the CCG. Temple is unspectacular, and if Tulane can somehow get to 20 points, they have a chance at winning that game, especially at home. I know I'm being really optimistic here, but this can happen. Tulane showed some life against Houston yesterday.

We actually have a solid home conference schedule next season. UH, Tulsa, Temple and Cincy.

Plus we play Tulane on the road which gives our road trippers a nice destination.

If we are ranked and have a shot at a NY6 bowl, the fans will return. Hype and rankings are a big deal in this market.

Next year we get the toughest conference games at home which should help and we get an easier draw out west.

We need to win the bowl game this year.  Bad play calling and using Tice too much in the backfield in last years bowl game blew it for us.  Mack Attack in bowl game
