It's a fantastic city.  I visited earlier this year.  It's very easy to get around.

Treat yourself and take an architectural boat tour.  Also, visit Lincoln Park Zoo (the zoo is free).

And, of course, Wrigley Field or just Wrigleyville.  Make a stop at Murphy's and have a drink.

I was able to make a Cubbies game and sat next to an 80+ year old guy that became a Cubs fan when he was 10 years old and first saw them play in the in 1945 World Series.  Tons of knowledge/history dropped on me during that game.  He remembers when tickets were $0.25.  hahah.  It was quite an experience.

Oh... and the food.  So many great places to eat.

Thanks for the suggestions Lane.  I plan on site seeing, eating and drinking.  Did you try David Burke's Primehouse on Rush Street?  I heard its one of the best steakhouses in Chicago.

Not sure this is a good idea.  Attendance at the off-campus stadium, a pro stadium yet, should be reduced.  OCS is the only way to ensure fans in seats.

Unfortunately, I didn't.

But I did get to try Rick Bayless' Frontera Grill.  A great place.

Any idea why this game is at Solder Field? USF vs  Illinois is not exactly a  marquee matchup. Are they doing work on their stadium? I can see this stadium being about half full at best.

it seems like they want to make a tradition out of it for recruiting etc.

I'm a little upset they are playing there. I would of liked to enjoy the great crazy atmosphere in champaign they produce for football games. I personally miss it as i went there and played a bit for 3 years out of high school (even though i was in the engineering school).

Great academic school, great people and great campus.

I do love chicago though, being there for the norte dame game was great. I'll probably make a day trip back to champaign as see the changes the years have made.

Memorial stadium hold 60k + and their attendance has always been good, even though they don't win(Champaign stadium).

Illinois last game at solder field in 2013 produced 47k +..It should be a great time.

They probably have promotions for that game and I would expect 40 K + in the stadium.

Thanks for the info. I have no desire to see Soilder Field as it is just another NFL stadium. Would have gone to  Champign to see the university and the college environment. I get it that its nice to see Chicago but I've been there many times before so I could really care less about the city.
