This defense is going to be CWT'S Achilles heel later this year. If we are fortunate to just keep scoring more often than our opponents can, and we scrape by on our way to face Houston, I do not believe we will be able to score on them as easily as they will have their way with our defense.

Promoting CRW was loyal and honorable, but I have to wonder if he has the right mentorship around him to help him learn and succeed. CWT is clearly an offensive mind, and he will be more attuned to what the offense is doing than mentoring a new D Coordinator. The offense is laudable finally, though I would argue the overall gameplan against FSU was pretty lacking. Defense wins championships, and this won't be our year without a dramatic change (and fast).

Well obviously we are seeing a learning curve here but in the grand scheme of things we are looking at a guy in his 5th game as a DC, and he didn't have much of a background in the 4-2-5.  FSU was a nightmare, but on the brightside this game and Syracuse were terrible in the first half but much much improved products in the second half.  I wouldn't write off the rest of the season as though Woodie and the defense can't improve.

Can I take back all those things I said about our D coordinator? We have the best coordinator in college football.

Last year we were great on TFL. That is all about aggressiveness

this last quarter we have been in their backfield and good things have been happening on defense.

I hope we keep the aggressiveness up

Not even close.  While similar looking, Cosh's defense was way worse.

At least we are well into the plus side on turnovers.

I guess I should never underestimate the ability of TBP to overreact.

We've had those shots against FSU and earlier this game. We just missed the tackles, we are executing better now. As optimistic as I am I was worried earlier, no judgment here.

To the original poster, this is a classic  example of why I wait until the end of the game before passing unrelenting judgement. Lol

Weren't we the last fbs team to get a turnover or int with cosh?

Outstanding halftime adjustments and the D showed up in the second half.  Safe travels home fellas.

Go Bulls!

Don't remember that detail but it wouldn't surprise me in the least.
