Good video on Rodney Adams. Tough story with his Mom but his Dad seems like a great parent. This is a good recruiting piece. Inspiring.

They should have him sit down with the next couple recruiting classes and explain why it's a waste of their time going to the middle of nowhere to play football when they've got a legit program in their backyard.

I like that his Grandmother brings up that point about being at all of his games.

Eh...I get why that's a factor for some kids, but for many, leaving town for college is part of the experience. I'm biased because I want them to come here, but if they want to get away from home for 4 years, that's cool. I left home to play baseball and it was awesome for me. I had no illusions about going pro, but it was a chance to move away from home and play for a few more years for free.

I agree it probably largely depends on your goals. If your goal is just to get some different life experiences and a decent degree, considerations change. I don't think that's what at the front of most recruits' minds though.

Love seeing behind the scenes and having a story to go with the young man we cheer for. Thank you for sharing.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
