When the players got into the end zone they would run in place. That's called running off on them. 

Plies created it/made it famous. 

So FSU is making a poor attempt at sighting him because he was representing the Bulls.

Wow there are a lot of old curmudgeons on here.  I mean, we've discussed Plues and running off on the plug in here...and the latter was popular even in the NFL for a while.  It's not obscure stuff.
