Who would you want add as the second team assuming we lose two?

I look west first (as you suggested). The teams we might have a chance against would be SDSU (who showed a lot of class when they backed out of the BE offer) and then Look at CSU. They have excellent facilities and fit the culture of the AAC. Would really like to get AF (maybe this would soften Army) but I think they will not be interested. Not a big fan of UNLV but looks like they are getting new stadium with the raiders, have good basketball, and fit the city profile of the AAC.

I think if you add an SDSU as the 12the team you'd have to add more western teams otherwise they would be out on an island and travel would be a nightmare for them.

If financially it is worth their while they would do it. We need at least $9 mil a year per team for them to consider but yeah I get your point. Maybe UNLV would help. Also, if we add two or more from the west we will have to  realign the divisions.

Agreed, that's why I like a move to 14 and just add four MWC teams.

Yes, this is the optimal solution. Guess we would find out what kind of communication/selling skills our comish would have to make it happen. If we lost UH and UC and replaced them with the four from MW, our conference would be better than when those two teams where in it.

I totally agree. The conference net-net would be better and would get a bump in basketball too. Adding an FAU or MTSU doesn't add nearly the same value.

On the conference board I see suggestions for MTSU, southern miss, ODU, Buffalo, Charlotte, etc. and I just roll my eyes. Talk about becoming C-USA...

LA Tech would probably fit okay, but they need to keep teams in south/east coast. West coast or Colorado doesn't make much sense geographically.

Only if you had enough to make true east and west divisions, which we wouldn't

You bring in Southern Miss and either FIU or FAU to keep stability.

Definitely need to bring in the Florida schools to own those markets Texas style.
