Of course it's the players fault, but he's going to get the heat for it.

It's not COA's fault Perry is a repeat idiot offender.

It's his team, he needs to go if he does not finish atleast .500. No more excuses. I hated this hire from day 1.

This will have to be borderline NIT team next season or COA will be gone. Harlan is a basketball guy so he will not sit back with another disaster season without making a move. And it won't matter if there is one scholarship player on the team next season.

I do hope that COA can make it work. I hate the turmoil we're going through.

If COA doesn't succeed, my money is on Andy Enfield to step in. :backtotopic:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Perry Dismissed From USF Basketball Program

TAMPA, APRIL 14, 2016  The University of South Florida announced on Thursday that junior forward Chris Perry has been dismissed from the men’s basketball program for a violation of rules.

“We have standards and expectations at USF and everyone will be held accountable to them,” USF head coach Orlando Antigua said. “I appreciate Chris’ contributions to our program and wish him the best.”

“I’m excited about the team we have returning and the newcomers we have joining us for next season,” Antigua said. “We have talented players in our program that are working hard to achieve our goals.”

The Bulls return three starters next season, including freshman guard Jahmal McMurray, who ranked sixth in the American Athletic Conference averaging 15.2 points per game. USF’s incoming freshman class was ranked fourth in the conference according to 247Sports.com. It includes ESPN Top 100 recruit Troy Baxter (6-8, 190) as well as guard Andres Feliz (6-2, 180) and small forward Malik Fitts (6-5, 215).

What a train wreck our Men's Basketball team has become.

I can already hear all the Antigua supporters on here making excuses AGAIN next year on how we are short handed, not enough players, Bodway is good, etc.

Antigua was a TERRIBLE hire and should have been fired after this past season.

We have already lost 2 scholarship players since the season ended. It is practically impossible to find a good player in the late signing period at this juncture.

This is pathetic!!!

You say this , but I am a HUGE Antigua supporter and I still expect us to have a winning record next year even without Chris Perry. If he has another terrible year then yeah, he should be fired, but I really doubt that will happen.

I thought his background was football?

Believe one of the 1st comments he had was about the hoops programs and how great the SunDome is. He also made the move in getting a new head coach. He also has been vocal at the bad hoops season for the men's and said that must change soon. He comes from University of Arizona & UCLA where the hoops program is a huge deal. Can't see why he would ignore the USF hoops programs now.

unlike football, basketball is a very fluid with transfers. two scholarships open means that COA has the opportunity to bring in two quality players.
