Time to get those young guys toughened up. Hate this for Perry, I really wanted to see him succeed but he had more than his share of wakeup calls. Sad.

These are grown men of legal age, but every coach out there talks about their job being to teach these young men about responsibility and accountability. They say it all of the time, so they need to held accountable to some extent when it doesn't work out. Sucks though, Chris had huge upside. Let's hope this is the end of the failures. JoshuaG Posted April 15, 2016 Group: Member Topic Count: 19 Content Count: 707 Reputation: 70 Days Won: 1 Joined: 04/28/2014 Share Posted April 15, 2016 Most here know where I stand on COA. Yes, I'm going to get all into actual basketball things for those who care for more than bashing. Losing Perry is a terrible hit for us. I said at the couclusion of our tourney that we will need Perry's experience and post play to be an effective team this coming season. His dismissal leaves us depleted at the 4 and rotation at the 5 for small sets. We will have to play small ball which may work, for this team, but only time will tell. As for if COA stays, if he has a sub 500 record they oust him. If he floats above that it might buy him room (I'm thinking depending on the recruiting class). 19 minutes ago, Blackice12 said: unlike football, basketball is a very fluid with transfers. two scholarships open means that COA has the opportunity to bring in two quality players. Can't do that because if we do we won't have schollies for incoming freshmen.

He also made the move in getting a new head coach. He also has been vocal at the bad hoops season for the men's and said that must change soon. He comes from University of Arizona & UCLA where the hoops program is a huge deal. Can't see why he would ignore the USF hoops programs now. Think he told me once that he coached or was a GA for football. Not saying BB isn't important to him. Edit: But I do misremember things. I hope I'm wrong though and the USF Compliance Ninjas can find something.

Some people just don't listen/learn, this wasn't Perry's first screwup. He's let the team down before, better that he's gone now. Exactly. Live by the rules or smell ya later. That's what kills me. He's struggled thru medical issues, coaching changes and suspension. He is talented, but was often inconsistent. Losing a starter hurts...but he did this to himself, and the team doesn't need players who can't comply with simple team rules.
