I do think we recently lost a good men's golf coach but after that, I got nothing ...

USF has lost tons of coaches while Leavitt was HC. Holtz lost a key DC after his 1st season and replaced him with Chris Cosh that basically sabotaged Holtz USF career

I think there's quite a bit of difference between "can't afford" and wouldn't pay, or other circumstances precluded their leaving. Also, this is a whole new regime at the helm, we don't know what Harlan will or won't do.

Not to insert a little reality into this but how many good coaches has USF lost because they couldn't afford them?

Plenty of assistants in the past, but this was also a forward looking question in terms of HCs since we're only on the 3rd for football.

So if it's a forward looking question in terms of HC's, how can you say we can't even afford to keep a good coach? You have no idea...

totally agree.  Seems so many posters here are directly involved in USF finances.

USF finances, capital building projects, all conversations between head coaches, assistant coaches, athletic directors .... we have moles directly involved everywhere.

That is a chicken or the egg conversation and you might need an OCS to get a P5 invite.  Houston is serious about moving up and they are investing now which should be our path.  Not sure if I would want to roll the dice on this one as we could get left out of good if we do not act now.

I watch the other mid-majors and see what happens to their successful coaches. Not rocket science.
