I know most if not all are frustrated (putting it mildly) with the way this season is progressing.  Just a question to throw out there for other opinions from this board.  My thought is if CWT is let go soon enough would an interim coach such as Allen be able to right the ship & salvage what is left of this season?  I know we have talent that needs developed & I also know there have been pages written about the QB issue.  I see both QB's have strengths in different areas.  We've got WR's & RB's.  Would a different coach change to the spread or option help? What are your thoughts?

First, I want to say I don't think CWT will get fired mid-season.  I think it will play out to the end and then something will happen if it's going to.

However, to answer your question, yes, potentially, I think it could make a difference.  The offense begins and ends with Taggart making the decisions about what play is run.  I think it's possible Reaves/Hope could do some things if they were truly empowered to.

Unfortunately, I don't think they'll get the chance, for as long as CWT is running the show, he calls all the shots.  I would expect that if CWT was fired, all of the offensive coaches would be too.

GA BULL, I agree that we will probably not get a chance for this to happen.  But, this one man show is certainly getting old & it will be interesting to see how many seats are occupied.

First, salvageable to me means that we can get to 6-6 and go to a bowl game.  If we lose to Syracuse, I don't think the season is salvageable, regardless of who is coaching at that point..

If low T grows a pair and develops a creative offense mind by Saturday, of course it's salvageable.

Since that ain't happening, the answer is no.

So you're saying with a new coach, a 1-4 season wouldn't be salvageable?

I think I would let Hope become interim HC and let Allen just focus on defense.

I don't think Taggart gets fired mid season.

not sure why anyone would elevate a guy to head coach that only has 4 games experience as a coordinator.

I agree it would need to be Hope. previous head coach

Hope is 57-49 as head coach...much better than Taggarts record.

Just to clarify, I used Allen's name as an example.  I would be for who has the experience & the heart to make it happen for the team.
