6 or more wins and Taggart is back. 5 is a toss up and 4 or less and we are looking for a new coach

pretty much how I feel

I think it has to be a combination of number of wins and the quality of play.

My opinion is we get 5 wins, but the losses include good quality play against the better teams on the schedule and that the team is showing marked improvement and signs of life he will be safe. On the other hand, even if he gets 6 wins against teams that end up being really bad and we are winning by 10-7 scores against teams like UCONN, SMU, etc and continue to be out of games in the 3rd quarter against the better teams on the schedule while boring the crowd out of the stadium he will be gone.

I think home attendance will enter into the equation if the general level of play is boring if we are hovering near .500.

Totally agree. If we can move from the 120s to 80s or better in stats while picking up 5 wins, I'd be ok. We need to show serious improvement, not just club the few baby seals on our schedule.

I'm optimistic as usual, but 5W with close games keeps him around. My heart says we get 6-8 and a bowl, but my heart has been (sooooooo) wrong before... :(

I think 5-7 and finishing the season strong keeps CWT around for another year.

5-7 if 1 of those wins is against UCF. 6-6 otherwise. No way he survives missing a bowl and another loss to UCF.

I agree.  But I think he NEEDS that signature win in those 5-6 games.  Beat a good team (and hopefully UCF) and he can survive.  Beat bottom feeders and beat a lowly UCF (who just lost to FIU) and we reevaluate him very closely

That's a misleading, if not meaningless, stat.

Like many have stated, 6 wins he stays for sure, 5 depending upon how the season progresses and it looks like we're making improvement on the field (end of season strength of the opponents, etc), and of course a win against UCF would weigh heavily.
