Its what i have said all along...after Leavitt the admins and yes this includes Judy not just Doug, went way overboard in a their acadmic holier than thou attitude and put a vise grip on this program......bash away Judy defenders...she is why we are in this **** conference

That is wrong and has nothing to do with the rest of the sentence ...

But Trip, this is the conference she led and settled her own team into.

Yep, you're both right .... she is why we're in this conference ... as opposed to being in CUSA or homeless ... my bad.

You're a real glass is half full guy, huh?  :)

Yes, she rescued us I suppose.  Maybe had we continued on our trajectory (and she had better leaders in Athletics) instead of imploding the program, we wouldn't have been facing homelessness and would have filled a gap in a real conference.  But that is speculation as much as is your homelessness thought.

Not for nothin' but our current AD doesn't believe Doug nor Judy are to blame for where we are.

And I wrote down on a piece of paper at my desk guessing almost word for word what you would say.  The conversation had no witnesses and we were having a pretty open discussion about things.  I just don't think there was an opportunity to go to another conference.  Even if Selmon had been around.

Nobody has ever given a rational answer to the question whose place should we have taken in the realignment ...

I think we can put this to bed by all agreeing that had we not reacted to nosediving within a season by ripping up the program, we would have been in a better position to find out. Instead, when it mattered, we were already a laughing stock.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

    Terry Lucas, 09/26/22
