Thanks taxpayers.

Don't forget the $28 million or so from the Florida Lottery.

Just thanking the right people. Oh, and lottery ticket buyers.

You're welcome .... and I finally saw a depiction of what could be going downtown and had no idea it was that extensive. Hopefully there's some public parking garages to be added because it looked like it was taking up a nice chunk of parking for Amalie.

UCF got money too.  That's what happens with public universities, they get money from the state.

"The USF facility would be flanked by a private medical tower and a 1,800-space parking garage and is seen as a focus of Vinik’s $1 billion redevelopment of downtown Tampa."

My point was not, who got what. I am not happy that UCF got money as well.

My point is, that the State has no money, it has OUR money as taxpayers.

I have never liked tax payer funded schools, thus I went to a school that did not draw on funds from the State I lived in. It was  a personal choice, and I still feel that way. Just my opinion and nothing more.

You're certainly entitled to your opinion.  However, if you went to UCF, you took advantage of a publicly funded school.

I don't know the exact economics of it, but a large public research university adds to the public coffers and have an economic impact on the are in which they are in.  There is a return on the investment.
