  1. The one game where you had a bigger crowd this year, the tv cameras were definitely shaking. I'm guessing that would mean it was bouncing. I'm sure it's safe. I doubt the university would risk the life of their fans for monetary gain.
  2. When they went conservative and kicked the field goal. The Houston possession before that was a quick score and I knew leaving them more than 2 minutes was going to come back and bite us.
  3. Wish I would have thought of that. I'm over 40 and not part of the generation that flips out their phones at a moments notice. Didn't even think about it until reading your post.
  4. Yes. Last year, he would pick up 5 yards on broken plays. Tonight, he showed a lot of hesitation of just taking off on several plays where everyone was covered downfield.
  5. I think we just wanted to believe there had to be something more. He was touted as an up-tempo Briles type offensive guru. He took a potent offense and made it vanilla. Yes, we lost some high caliber players, but the team still has a lot of talent.
  6. These two stood right at the tunnel and yelled at Auggie and a few other players as he left the field saying you suck defense. You could see from the expression of a few players that they heard them. Really classless. I talked to a cop at the top and mentioned they might cause an altercation.
  7. There is no need to stand at the tunnel and call out student athletes by name and tell them they suck. Yell at the system and coaches, but leave the players out of it.
  8. Came here to say the same thing. We played it safe at the end and went for 3 and left them enough time to drive down the field and score a touchdown. The sad thing is, if we had gotten the first down when in field goal range, we could have run the clock down and then iced it with a score. You do that and the defensive execution on fourth down doesn't even come into play.
  9. Prices going up for the game. I'm guessing they have to shell out more for insurance in case the stadium collapses. Should have got my tickets last week for $22. Now they are $50. Ouch!
  10. I'm thinking they were going to parachute onto the field but it was too windy.
  11. I'm going to support them because they took a chance to come to USF and play for a team that was a dumpster fire last year.
  12. You got me. Run blocking / Pass blocking...either way, takes a better grade of offensive lineman. Hopefully, that's who he's recruiting.
  13. I'm hoping Strong looked at what's in the cupboard and is recruiting appropriately. We've never been able to get a great offensive line that can pass protect, but maybe with our success, he can pull in some higher ranked linemen over the next few years to compliment what ever type of qb we have. I'm guessing Kean will be a stop-gap until Battle can get up to speed and then we'll be back to a mobile qb system again.
  14. They should be. They are playing better. Are we capable of beating them, of course.
  15. I think our talent is winning games despite the coaching / play calling.
  16. We haven't played a complete game yet, on offense or defense. The coaching philosophy is starting to rub off on the players. They need to have a score on every possession attitude on offense and a killer instinct on defense. They get up by a few touchdowns and let off on the gas. The play calling to slow down the offense to rest the defense doesn't work when you go three and out. We get into the red zone and immediately run twice up the middle. Yes, we won, but playing this way will not get us to a conference championship.
  17. I can see it if we can't stop the run. Their running back averaged 5.5 ypc against Oklahoma and has pretty good numbers in the rest of the games. Our best shot is to come out and score quickly so they have to pass to catch up. With all our slow starts, I'm guessing this will be a close one, at least until after half time.
  18. Only thing that makes me nervous is these aren't good teams that we've beaten so I'm not sure how good our defense actually is.
  19. I'm clueless on this too. We were a gulf coast offense. Never a power run team. Spread them out and make it work to our advantage with speed. We lost some of that speed, but he could have plugged in other personnel. We didn't suddenly get a new offensive line that is great at run blocking. He should have waited to implement his offense next year when Q is gone. Why break what is all ready working? A power run mentality doesn't give Q the room he needs to improvise.
  20. It's because of the catchy commercial. My eight year old sings it out loud every time the commercial is on and he has no idea who even sings it.
  21. After the crowd cleared out in the 4th quarter, security came down and took the one in our section. It was almost right on cue with my brother saying "remember when security wouldn't let us have beach balls".
  22. I planned on going to this game since I'll be over in Daytona for the holidays. I'm having second thoughts now. To die sandwiched between collapsed bleachers and UCF fans has gotta be one of the worst ways to go. I'm sure the dim-wits will be bouncing like crazy for the game. I guess ignorance is bliss.
  23. I'm picturing a scene from Clockwork Orange with gator fan strapped to a chair forced to watch Flowers td's runs on repeat until they become fans.
  24. Wow, I'm glad he's on our side. He treats every defensive lineman like they just disrespected his mother.
