    Navy is playing in their home stadium where they have won 19 of their last 20. I would be surprised if they aren’t favored. But you never know. ESPN FPI has Navy over 60% to win.

    Good to see the game highly rated. AAC needs to win 6 out of 7 of the bowl matchups to keep up the P6 narrative. I doubt UCF beats Auburn, but USF, Navy, and Memphis will be favored over their P5 opponents.

    USF would sell that allotment to a driveable major bowl to face a team like Auburn. Easily.

    Alabama getting in was obvious after the committee put Fresno State in the top 25 with an FPI in te 60s and leaving a 4 loss Miss State in. Alabama will get in ever year unless they have 3 losses.

    Maybe top to bottom the strength isn’t there, but you can’t tell me the top of the AAC can’t match up with the top of other conferences because they have matched up favorably most every year and won big games. 23 wins over P5 as a conference in the past 2+ years. Houston knocked off 2 top 10 P5 teams last year. Memphis knocked off top 10 ole miss. UCF vs top 10 Baylor. ECU was beating 1/3 of the ACC regularly until their recent decent to the bottom of the conference. The narrative is the AAC wouldn’t compete, but it’s all speculation since they don’t get the opportunities.

    Until an undefeated team isn’t left out of championship contention it will always be a mythica national championship. Schedule better doesn’t add up when P5 teams won’t play you and wins against ranked G5 teams aren’t considered good wins. UCF going undefeated should stir up some controversy from the G5 conferences. How can everyone be playing for the same championship, but only half the teams can actually win it even if the other half never lose?

    Just stop watching. Why do you think the casual fan watches march madness? To see the mid majors pull of upsets and Cinderella stories. Nobody cares to see 2 loss Ohio State who were humiliated by Iowa vs Clemson who lost to a bad Syracuse for the umpteenth consecutive year just because their ADs sit on the committee. Apart from fans of those teams that is.

    Fresno State is the biggest joke in the rankings. The lose at home by double digits to UNLV, beat BYU (who was dominated by East Carolina) by 7, beat a horrible Hawaii by 10, beat Wyoming by 6 and then knock off Boise who had no business being ranked in the first place and that deserves them to get in with 3 losses?

    Fresno is ranked 60 in the Fake Power Index that ESPN pushes but the CFP committee wanted to give Alabama the appearance of another quality win. They kept Miss State ranked for the same reason. 90% chance they will put Alabama in the playoff.

    Option 1 is no chance. Option 2 will be forgotten after this year ala Western Michigan last year. Option 3 is the best option.

    They moved Fresno State into the rankings and kept USF out so there is no outcry when Alabama gets in with a worse resume than UCF has should UCF won the conference.

    With the Frost to NU being a done deal I think Memphis will win outright.

    Nope we scored with about 1:40 left. They scored on the kickoff return with 1:28 left so possibly could have taken it down to 40 seconds, but not run it out.

    Your scenario of the kick returner stopping at the 5 wouldn’t work since they couldn’t run the clock out. You are suggesting a 3 point lead with a minute left and no timeouts is a better situation than a 7 point lead with 1:45 and 2 timeouts left. As it turns out we returned the kick to midfield. When the clock stops on first downs, a minute is plenty of time to get in field goal range or get a touchdown.

    I don’t think the refs failed to cover a kickoff or missed a relatively short field goal and extra point. There were some calls that went against us, but in the end we were in good position to pull it out.

    More likely is we are still unranked and UCF drops for barely beating an unranked team.

    USF already gets the top talent in the American with really only UCF and Houston able to compete in recruiting on a yearly basis. IPF isn't going to move the needle that much. Really need to get into a P5 conference to make any further waves in recruiting.

    Only because FSU rescheduled their secondary cupcake and Florida did not. As bad as the Gators are they likely could beat Northern Colorado.

    In reference to UCF's greater success in the AAC, the dumpster fire left by Holtz is relevant. The 6-18 record from 2013-2014 while UCF was winning the conference and winning the head to head matchup is at least in part due to the state he left the program. The past 2 seasons USF was the better team and even this year it was essentially a tossup.

    I don't see us dropping from #19 in coaches to out with a loss to #12. AP might be a different story, but we will be ranked in both with a bowl win.
