  1. Even if strong and frost leave top coordinators will be clamoring to be the next guy up. Recruiting advantages make both USF and UCF attractive jobs. Why do you think they took these jobs instead of mid tier P5 jobs? Houston is in a similar scenario. Those 3 teams should win the majority of the conference championships and be the top candidates for next expansion.
  2. NC State lost. A chance we could sneak in. Don't know if the committee will rank 4 G5 teams.
  3. Temple offense turning it over every possession. 31-10 UCF in the 2nd
  4. We will get enough bump to pass Boise even if UCF and Memphis lose this week. UCF will be ranked either way at 9-1 baring some sort of blowout. Memphis would be a 9-2 team. The only way Boise tops an AAC team is if the champ has at least 2 losses imo.
  5. Temple wasn't a winner take all last game of the season situation. In hindsight it was the biggest game we have played, but only because they didn't lose after that.
  6. This is the biggest game in USF history until we win it. Then Memphis in the CCG will be the biggest game. Then the Peach Bowl. A chance for the 3 biggest games in program history back to back. 2 ABC games and ESPN. Chance for great exposure for the program.
  7. Line will be at least UCF -7 I'm pretty sure. UCF average margin of victory is only 18 on the road which explains the Temple line. Their last 3 home games have all been over 35 point lines and they have a margin of victory average of 35.6 at home for the year. Closest games there were 25 points vs UConn and 27 vs Memphis.
  8. Good story. It will be tough to see him go. Truly brought our program back from the brink.
  9. Believe strong had confidence in his defense and felt it was better to not risk an ill advised interception to set them up for points. Probably should have run a draw of something to see if they could pick up big yardage, but I understand the thinking. Similar conservative play once their QB went down and they had to abandon the pass pretty much. Basically USF missed points because of 2 turnovers and gave them points with a blocked punt. Charlie obviously had no confidence in QF ability to avoid a turnover in the end of half or late game situations.
  10. Make it a 12 team playoff with 10 conference champs and 2 at larges. Top 4 teams get a bye. Lowest seed plays highest. Should be little impact for the top teams since they get a bye and then possibly a “weak” g5 opponent before the final 4. Would have to sacrifice a regular season game like the meaningless FCS week most teams play.
  11. UCF picked up more points than USF in the coaches poll, but just had a larger margin to try to move up a spot. 9-13 in the coaches are basically interchangeable in terms of points.
  12. Good exposure with that time and on ABC. Hope it turns into good exposure with a Bulls win.
  13. Yeah I think they peaked when they scored on 15 straight possessions earlier in the year. They will be out of gas by Black Friday. May even drop the game at Temple.
  14. Committee would view it like Miami’s win over Toledo. In other words ignore it.
  15. The AAC is clearly behind the P5 conferences in computer rankings, but well ahead of the rest of the G5. When other G5 conference schools beat a P5 school it is a major ordeal. AAC was 4-1 against Big 10 and PAC 12 opponents this season and this is not some sort of fluke season. The AAC beats a fair share of P5 opponents every year. In 2015 AAC beat 10 P5 opponents and 8 in 2016.
  16. It is because the ranking used is the CFP ranking which is on Tuesday night. I guess there isn’t enough time between that ranking and the Saturday CCG. Not saying I agree, just that’s how the tiebreaker is written.
  17. Probably would, but the polls they use for CCG home/away decision are the Tuesday before the UCF game.
  18. 33 is the most UCF has allowed. Austin Peay scored 5 touchdowns: 4th down broken tackle run Fumble recovery in the end zone where 2 of their players fumbled on the same play. Fluke 4th down long pass that was tipped up by defense and caught by reciever Kickoff return for TD Fluke 3rd and long long pass that was temporarily intercepted by defense before another defender knocked it loose right into the receivers hands.
  19. Toledo lost. Last non American school in the conversation for NY6.
  20. UCFs schedule is not any weaker than Wisconsin or Alabama at this point. Have you seen their schedules?
  21. Because it’s a popularity contest. Alabama’s best win is over #24 LSU. Second best win is a WAC team. Yet they are #2
