I read he was the projected starter going into the season and got injured just before the season opener.  When he came back he had nagging injuries and his touches dwindled.  That's what happens when backfields are loaded with a bunch of 4 star guys and 1 guy gets injured, especially UF where they do running by committee.  To me this is one of those situations where transferring may be a good thing for the guy.  I don't get the idea that he thought he should have been handed the job, he reminds me more of MVS than Woulard.  I don't use the others because I think the talent level is different.  I'm betting he comes in with a chip on his shoulder.  Also, Charlie Strong is not a big transfer guy so  if he's looking at him, he thinks he can get it done.

He's not going to be eligible until 2018 anyway, so I don't see how bringing in talent is bad thing if he has no off-field issues. DJ and Tice this year, with Mack and Sands getting some touches. If everything works out, you have 3 talented backs with multiple years of eligibility which gives you time to develop their replacements.

I like this because it adds some depth since we're thin at RB next season.  We still need to go out and recruit a difference maker at RB that will be able to compete for the job right away.  Getting Davis this past cycle would've been huge.

Better he sit out and have two years of eligibility when we may need him.

Yup... Cronkrite will have to sit out the 2017 season but will have two years of eligibility remaining after that.
