Guest
So then to BullsFanInTX's credit, we still don't have any concrete numbers announced. I hope USF announces soon and is on par with the other state schools in FL. This is something that should at least be announced on the official twitter page so that the info gets flushed around. Actually, USF does have numbers. EVERY SCHOOL has these numbers because they are required to report this in financial aid. For USF it's $4,100 for two semesters. (Yes, it's an "estimate" - but this is what USF tells the Federal Government the expenses are above books, tuition, and room & board. http://usfweb2.usf.edu/finaid/14-15/1415_budget.aspx
Guest
Also... people should realize that USF will HAVE to pay this if the O'Bannon case is finalized with the current verdict. O'Bannon will required every Division 1 school (including those who only offer basketball) to pay this to all football and men's basketball players... and Title IX will then force schools to pay this to all of the women athletes. It's what the so called "Power 5" voted to give to athletes, and schools from the "G5" are also authorized to give (and many have done so already). Many schools in the AAC have already announced what they will be giving next year, but I haven't heard what USF will be giving in COA (or have missed it). USF has said, even when the idea was still being discussed, that they will agree with paying for CoA. While USF may be stuck in a "lower Tier" conference, they've mentioned that they will do whatever it takes to stay competative up with the "P5" conference teams. This has been covered here at TBP few times: http://www.thebullspen.com/topic/98140-usf-getting-ready-to-pay-for-full-cost-of-attendance-for-athletics/?hl=%2Bcost+%2Battendance usf cannot compete with the power 5 but they should pay to try to compete with mighty aac

Brad Posted April 16, 2015 Group: Admin Topic Count: 13,332 Content Count: 96,987 Reputation: 10,808 Days Won: 469 Joined: 05/19/2000 Share Posted April 16, 2015 This is NOT rehashing subjects. Just because USF has made generic statements about wanting to provide the COA stipend does not mean it is currently doing so. Other schools, including AAC schools, not just so called power 5 schools, are announcing HARD NUMBERS as to what they will be providing. If you don't think this will be used in recruiting then you don't know about recruiting. FACT, ECU and Memphis have ALREADY announced hard figures and that each scholarship athlete will be provided over 4K a year in COA. Meanwhile USF has given a generic statement about wanting to provide funds. But so far are offering zero actual dollars (to the best of my knowledge). There is a big difference in saying we might offer something down the line and "we are offering 4,298 dollars per year" in cost of attendance stipends. So...what you're saying is, you have no actual information that recruits aren't being given these numbers, you're just declaring that since USF didn't tell you, they have no plan? Stop. There is no need to harass someone that simply wants to have a conversation on a message board. It's why it is here.

Just because they haven't made a statement doesn't mean they're not doing it. To assume they aren't for the same reason implies your base belief is we lied when we said we would.
